ADHD Babes is collective of Black women and non-binary people. They create safer spaces for us to flourish and live our lives to their greatest potential. They aim to empower people with community tools, learning strategies and healing spaces to redefine ADHD, tackle its difficulties and utilise its strengths.
ADHD BABES
Neurodiversity workshop
In the workshop we covered:
-
What ADHD and neurodiversity are
-
How to get a diagnosis as an adult
-
The experience of being Black & neurodiverse
During the pandemic there was an upsurge of discussions around neurodiversity within the Black community, with numerous people coming forward on social media to disclose their recent diagnosis.
Conversations about ADHD and neurodiversity are still quite new and a lack of resources make it harder to understand and identify in adulthood.
